If one were to characterize my speculations about Messiaen's music with an overlay within, say, the Holy Trinity… i think it could be said, without too much overstatement: that Messiaen was truly inspired by the Holy Spirit. Being an old guy now - i perfer the old fashioned and now rarely used term : Holy Ghost. (ha ha). Seeing the Nativity from different places and through different eyes simultaneously is maximal expression - Christmas deserves no less.
